Kelsey's Pizzeria & Eatery | Our Story

42 years of heart, hustle, and great pizza
Kelsey's started with one young man, a suitcase, and a deep-rooted belief that good food should be generous, honest, and made by people who care. Over 42 years later, that's still the only way we know how to do it.
Raised in the kitchen
Nick grew up in Sudbury, Ontario, the son of Greek parents in an Italian neighborhood — learning early that great food starts with the smell of sauce on the stove and doing everything from scratch.

A suitcase and a hunch
After studying Hospitality Management at Ryerson, Nick turned down corporate offers and headed to Florida with his uncle Charlie Lagges. He opened his first pizzeria on November 26, 1983 — so busy on day one they had to take the phone off the hook.

The people who stayed
Some of the team that showed up in those early years never really left — three dining room members have been with Kelsey's for over 20 years. As Nick puts it: "They don't work for me. We work together."

Not fancy — just good
"We are not about sun-dried tomatoes, wood-burning ovens, and $10 mushrooms." Kelsey's is your neighborhood pizzeria: generous portions, quality ingredients, a clean comfortable atmosphere, and a reasonable price — every single time.
